VOIP on my mobile phone!

I’ve not really got into Skype and all the other VOIP services for making phone calls through your PC. I tried a service a couple of years ago with a company called Gradwell and it was pretty good, I got a free 0845 phone number for people to dial and ring my PC! and calls to other VOIP users were free.

But now you can get the VOIP software to run on a PocketPC … so if you are near a WiFi hotspot you can make free calls with your PocketPC or in my case my mobile phone! interesting concept. The problem is, I have 200 minutes on my mobile phone that seem to roll over every month! so I don’t have much need for VOIP. If there were more free WiFi hotspots around I might be tempted to dump my monthly mobile contract and use PAYGO when WiFi’s not available! and If you are a frequent airport user and have access to the executive lounges, free calls over WiFi from any country start to become a real possibility!

Voice And Video Over IP … now that’s more like it, and I like the way MSN Messenger works with this, it just needs to have the ability to add more people into the video conference and get video conferencing on a PocketPC without the need for 3G!
