The Polish wanderer returns
This was an image test using the PixelPipe iPhone app. With one upload, this image was sent to:
- @facebook – and saved in the Mobile Uploads album
- @twitpic – and twitpic sent a tweet out
- @posterous – connecting using the API with full autopost to:
- @flickr
- @delicious
- @blogger
- @friendfeed
- @youtube (if video)
- @email – sent to my own address
- @onlyposterous – this set as posterous@posterous.com to ensure no further autopost
- @12seconds – if video
PixelPipe lets you decide which service to send to when uploading, so to avoid multiple tweets the trick is to only send the image to @facebook and @twitpic and @onlyposterous because twitpic will be the service sending the tweet. Obviously, it all depends where you ultimately want to channel any visitors.
When you add a new ‘destination’ in PixelPipe you can specify a posterous email address. This could be twitter+posterous@posterous.com or flickr+twitter@yourblogname.posterous.com if you have multiple Posterous blogs. You will need to specify the from address as your own email address and once you send your first post, Posterous will ask you to confirm the new sending platform in an email or in your control panel.
