Don’t you love it when a plan comes together?
Here are a couple of pics of the Sumvision Cyclone Micro Media Player £22 on Amazon
. It is a multi media player that upscales to 1080p through a HDMI cable to a HD TV or monitor with DVI (it also has composite AV for older TV’s).
I’ve added a couple of movies to a SD card and it plays them quite nicely, sound can be output through the HDMI cable or through the AV socket. In the pictures I have attached a X-mini II Mini Speaker as my LCD monitor does not have speakers. You can bang in a USB pen or USB drive if you need more space, but a 8GB SDHC card will be more than enough for a two week break in my caravan
The unit is powered by an included 5V 2A wall adapter, but as you can see will run quite happily from a 1.5A Kensington battery when used with a SD card – you might need the full 2 amps if you want to self power a 2.5″ USB Hard Drive.
So, there you go, another small, lightweight interconnecting device for the #manbag for the travelling salesman.
Some specs:
Video Playback: MPEG-4, DivX, XviD, MPEG-2, MPEG-1, AVI, VOB
Supported Audio: WMA, MP3, OGG
Supported Still Images: BMP, GIF, JPEG
